Thinking Out Loud
If there's one thing I love about Oklahoma it's the beautiful sunsets. One of my friends took this picture the other night from the rodeo arena and I had to steal it. It's been 70 degrees the last couple of days and I've been loving it. I've never seen this kind of weather in January but I could definitely get used to it.
On another note... Funny story, last week after church me and Allen went over to a friend's house to hang out for a while, when we got there there was this lady there that had been at church. It was the first week we had seen her there but she acted like she knew everyone so we didn't really know what the deal was. Anyhow she ended up being our friend's landlord and was just in town for a couple days. Well, it was kind of weird because she just hung out with us and acted like she was one of the kids. She was really into this healthy vitamin company and had all kinds of their products and she was showing us, well she went in the other room and came back with two purple cans and handed them to me and Allen. She was like I'll just give this to you two because you're the only married ones. The name of the drink was 'Passion'.... Awkward. This random strange lady gave us a sexual enhancement drink and told us to go home and try it! What the heck??? Who does that?? Not that I'm complaining it was just one of the weirdest things I've ever got from someone. And no... We haven't tried it yet :)
At church I'm on of the leaders for the young women and I'm supposed to get an activity planned for this week for the girls to come to. Well, the young women's president is a little bit on the hard to work with side. To say it nicely. She doesn't want the activities to be 'fun' for the girls she wants it to be more 'spiritual' which is a good thing, but if you can't have fun while you're doing it then after one or two activities no one is going to come back. So anyway, I've been stressing myself out all week trying to figure out what would be a good activity to do and something to bring the girls closer together and all that, and I finally decided that a get to know you party would be good since it's our first activity together and that way everyone would feel more comfortable when we do other activities. Anyway I planned a couple games and had a few ideas of how I wanted everything to go and finally felt good about it when last night at about 11:00 I get a text from the president saying that she had planned some kind of scavenger hunt where we look for ingredients for a treat and then make it... Something like that. I was furious! She had asked me to plan it and told me it was my deal and then all the sudden takes over and does everything? If anything I need to work on my relationship with her because I just feel like there's no point of me even being there and putting any effort in because every time I do this same thing happens. What a mess! I guess that's gonna be one of my trials, trying not to flip out at this lady one day, but last night was close. I probably wasn't as nice as I should have been but seriously lady.

Just Rambling...
It's crazy the different places you end up in life that you think you'll never go. I always planned to stay close to my family and friends in Utah, but that wasn't what life had in store for me. Looking back I wouldn't change it... I've met too many amazing friends and had so many different experiences that I never would have had if I wasn't willing to step out of my comfort zone. I'm pretty much just rambling waiting for another rodeo performance to start yet again. Last night Allen rode his horse for 73 points, which isn't a super great score but its still a score. I was really nervous watching him, I've got to the point that I am usually pretty good when he rides but it was his first really big rodeo I've been to and my nerves got the best of me. I'm really proud of him for coming as far as he already has.

On the Road Again
I get to see a lot of places being the wife of a cowboy. Right now I'm waiting for the Denver CO. Rodeo to start super nervous. Allen just bought his pro rodeo card, which means he is legit! I'm really proud of him for coming as far as he has chasing his gold buckle dreams. Sometimes I think I take for granted how blessed I am to be part of those dreams but I really love that he drags me along. Not many wives get to travel with their husbands as much as I do, and I know there's a good chance that will change somewhat the more involved he gets but as for now I'm just enjoying ever road trip we have together. This is a tough business and a hard way to make a living but its something he loves so for now I'll just try to support him as much as I can... That's all for now, good luck Big Al, I love you!!

All Grown Up and Blogging!!
Well I did it... I finally started my very own blog!! I've decided that my life is worth sharing, and this would be a good way to do it. Things have not gone the way I expected at all from what I imagined as a little girl. I figured I would live a pretty quiet life, nothing too extravagant but still fulfilling. But here I am... The wife of a professional rodeo cowboy, traveling hundreds of miles almost every weekend and living halfway across the country from my home and family. Anyhow, I'm hoping that having a blog will be therapeutic for me, because I'm pretty sure this new life will take a lot of getting used to!
